OUTSTANDING HOUNDS

F.C. Green Bay Butkus

IFC Green Bay Shooter x FC Green Bay Wiley

Owner, Joe Kuklenski, Ladysmith, WI

Our winner for the 13” Males is FC Green Bay Butkus.  In the 2009 trialing year Butkus had 6 - 1st, 2 - 2nd, 2 - 3rd, and 1 -4th.  Butkus became a Field Champion in June at the Ishpeming Beagle Club, Ishpeming, Michigan.

Honorable mention goes to M’s Maple Road BJ owned by Scott Morgan of Houghton Lake, MI.  BJ is out of FC Bear Run Itchy Ike and FC Birch Lake Rosie.  BJ took 2 – 1st, 2 – 2nd, 1 – 3rd, 2 – 4th, and 2-NBQ’s and also took a 2nd in the NMHA Winner’s Stake.

Third place goes to Riverland Token owned by Pat & Debby Wendrick of Escanaba, MI. Token is out of FC Bear Run Itchy Ike and Wapejo Betty Yooper.   This season Token took 1 – 1st, 3 – 2nd, 2 – 3rd, and 1 – NBQ. 

Fourth place goes to Wapejo Spencer owned by Jeff Goff of Diamondale, MI.  Spencer is out of FC Bear Run Itchy Ike x NLPC FC Deer Lake Oreo.  Spencer took 2 – 1st, 1 – 2nd, and 1- NBQ.

The fifth place hound was Sir Duke of Fort Apache owned by Randy Jones of Lake Linden, MI. Duke is out of FC Valley’s Freckles Bandit and Blueberry Knoll Sally.  Duke took a 1 - 1st, 2 - 2nd and 1 – 4th.

F.C. Riverbottom Robin

FC Glacier Ridge Renegade x FC Riverbottom Yukon

Owner: Charlie Nagler, Menominee, MI

Our winner for the 13” Females is FC Riverbottom Robin.  Robin had 3 – 1st and 1- 4th.  Robin won two really big classes which shot her up to the top.  Robin became a Field Champion when she won her class at the fall Snowshoe Ridge trial.  Robin and the runner up were dueling it out until the last trial of the season.  

Honorable mention goes to Traprock Valley Lola owned by Dave Baril, Lake Linden MI.  Lola is out of IFC Buckeye Ninja Blue Boy and Blueberry Knoll Bessie. This season Lola took 2- 1st, 1- 2nd, and 2- 3rd.

Third place goes to South Woods Kate owned by Jeff and son Nick Eick of Marinette, WI. Kate is out of IFC Country Boy Runner and FC Meachum’s Blue Silk.   Kate took a 1 – 1st, 1 – 2nd, 2- 3rd and 1 – 4th. 

Fourth place goes to Koivisto’s Maggie Jane Valent, owned by Jack Maccani and handled by Mark Maccani and Nicole Mattson of Bessemer, MI.   Maggie is out of FC Stine Time Whoopen and Stine Time Gooten. This little consistent hound had 2- 2nd, 4- 3rd, 1- 4th, and 2- NBQ’s.  

Fifth goes to FC Snow Run Rita owned by Joe Kuklenski of Ladysmith, WI.  Rita is out of IFC Green Bay Shooter and Shoreacres Shaker’s Dinah. 

FC Farriers Wrangler

FC Farriers John Boy x North Lake Missy

Owner: Nelson Farrier, Hillman, MI

The 15” Male winner is FC Farriers Wrangler.  Wrangler dominated the 15” male class by taking 3- 1st, 3- 2nd, 1- 4th, and 1-NBQ. Wrangler also took a 4th at the NMHA’s Winner’s Stake and this year’s Nationals.   Wrangler became a Field Champion when winning the class at the fall Gogebic Range trial.

Honorable mention goes to Olsen’s Giant Pine Bugandy owned by Tom Olsen of Iron Mountain, MI.  Bugandy is out of FC Branko’s Amans Bugle Boy and On the Fritz Brandy.  Bugandy had a good 2009 trial year.  He had 2 – 1st, 4 – 3rd and 1 – NBQ’s.

Third place goes to Whitney Creek Captain Jack owned by Butch Saari of Ironwood, MI.  Jack is out of IFC Green Bay Shooter and Shoreacres Shaker’s Dinah.  Jack took 3-1st and 1-4th. Jack needs a few points to attain the Field Champion title.

Fourth place goes to Oak Ridge Denali Rebel, owned by Mike Corrigan of Lake Linden, MI. Rebel this season took 2- 2nd, 1- 3rd, and 4- 4th.

Fifth is FC Awful Bawlin Volker Man owned by Dean Carli of Ironwood, MI. Volker Man is out of Moneysunk Mountain Man and Awful Bawlin Hoser.  Volker Man took 3- 2nd, 1- 3rd, and 1- NBQ.  Volker Man became a field champion by winning at the September Lake Superior trial this fall.

FC South Woods Cyclone

Owner: Jake Richards, Ishpeming, MI

The 15” Female winner is FC South Woods Cyclone.  Cyclone completed her requirements as a Field Champion by taking a 3rd at the Large Pack Nationals in Sandy Creek, NY.   Cyclone, in her derby year, took 3- 1st, 2- 2nd, and 1-NBQ. She also took a 2nd at the NMHA’s Championship Derby and won the NMHA’s Winner’s Stake the next day.  Congratulations to such a nice young man and a really nice hound.

Honorable mention goes to Cyclone’s littermate, Meachum’s Ballerina. Cyclone and Ballerina battled it out to the end for the Outstanding Hound award this year.  Meachum’s Ballerina is owned by Jim Meachum of Ishpeming, MI.  Ballerina in her derby year took 2-1st, 1-2nd, 2-3rd, and 2-4th.

Third place goes to FC Aman’s Deep Woods Jasmine owned by Steve Aman of Iron Mountain, MI.   Jasmine is out of FC Branko’s Amans Bugle Boy and FC Klacking Creek Smoke.  This season Jasmine took 2– 1st, 1- 2nd, 1- 3rd, 2- 4th, and 1- NBQ.  In October, Jasmine finished her Field Champion requirements at the Lake Superior Beagle Club.

Fourth goes to Tomasi’s Deductible Dancer owned by Jon Tomasi of Bergland, MI.  Dancer is out of FC Riverland Black Ice and FC On The Fritz And Outa Time.  In Dancer’s derby year she took 1- 1st, 1- 2nd, 1- 3rd, 1- 4th, and 1- NBQ.  

Fifth is FC Townline’s Honey Bea owned by Ken Lewis of Monticello, IA.  Bea is out o IFC Stonyhill’s Gator and Townline’s Jerry-Jo’s Agate. Bea took a 1- 1st, 2- 2nd and 1- NBQ. Bea finished her field champion requirements at the fall Gogebic Range field trial.
